The latest indication of the ever-growing influence of YouTube stars has arrived in the form of an original video content deal between Sony Music and Kurt Hugo Schneider.

Under the terms of the deal, Sony will show a series entitled To The Beat with Kurt Hugo Schneider, featuring talent on its roster performing special versions of their hits in collaboration with the YouTube artist on Google’s online video channel.

The ten-episode digital show is set to debut in 2016 and will be streamed from the artist and producer’s YouTube channel that boasts more than six million subscribers and 40 million monthly views. In addition to generating over 1.3 billion total views online, Hugo Schneider’s work has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
