Philo has launched at 15 further universities, providing live TV and DVR service to residential students on any device.

Philo's roster of more than 40 universities now includes Clemson University, University of Houston, University of North Carolina Asheville, University of South Florida, University of Texas El Paso, University of Utah, Virginia Commonwealth University and Washington State University.

These latest schools join Philo's current line-up of highly regarded universities, which includes Harvard University, Brown University, University of Alabama, Lubbock Christian University, Texas A&M University and the University of Washington.

"We're thrilled to bring the revolutionary TV experience that Philo enables to many more students across the country," said Andrew McCollum, the recently appointed CEO at Philo. "Together with our industry partners, we're changing what this generation expects from television."

Philo has also launched a redesign of its Roku app, which includes a significant visual design overhaul with enhanced search and DVR functionality. The Roku redesign joins recent enhancements to Philo's web, iOS and Android apps including the ability to search across shows, movies and channels; a home page that displays recent DVR recordings, shows that are trending near users, and upcoming popular shows; a new channel guide in both a grid and guide view for easier live TV viewing; and an enhanced DVR interface.
