At IBC2015 in Amsterdam, Spain's Egatel will present a portfolio of broadcasting equipment including the new generation of Smart LNB, a satellite terminal conceived by Eutelsat which enables a wide range of connected services.

The Smart LNB is an electronic device connected to the satellite dish equipped with a novel transceiver that has a high efficiency narrowband return link. The terminal intends to shake up the SatCom market by opening the door to satellite TV connected services such as HbbTV, social networking, payment transactions, subscription-based management and video-on-demand (VOD). As well as these, the device supports multiple machine-to-machine (M2M) applications such as e-health, smart homes and smart metering.

In addition to the Smart LNB, Egatel will present its WHET series wideband high efficiency TV transmitters which provide an energy efficiency of up to 42% over the whole UHF band, for both liquid and air-cooled transmitters.

The optimisation of energy efficiency in the transmitters is achieved through the Doherty technology which, with the addition of the wideband function, allows the changing of the RF channel without the need for any adjustment of the amplifiers.
