IPTV adoption in the Asia Pacific region has helped propel the growth in the global IPTV market, to a projected regional CAGR of more than 20% for the five years to 2019, according to a report by TechNavio.

With China, Japan and South Korea leading the IPTV revenue generation in Asia, the report, titled Global IPTV Market, says the lower cost of IPTV installation in the region – when compared to the US – is facilitating faster adoption of the technology and services it provides.

The IPTV market worldwide is expected to grow at a CAGR of 8.95% between 2014 and 2019, making it the fastest growing pay-TV platform, say researchers.

According to research conducted in 2014, China achieved 26.71% of the IPTV marketplace, France claimed 17.3%, the US had 13.75%, South Korea 8.66% and Japan 5.85%.
