Mongol TV has acquired a number of drama series from the UK and US following the Asia TV Forum earlier in December.

New to Mongol TV will be the British period dramas Mr Selfridge, acquired from ITV, and the NBC distributed Downton Abbey, produced jointly by Carnival Films and Masterpiece.

The Mongolian broadcaster has also renewed US primetime dramas The Good Wife and Hawaii Five-O from CBS, NBC's The Blacklist, and Scandal from ABC.

Coverage of Los Angeles' 87th Academy Awards on 22 February 2015 will also air live on Mongol TV after a deal with Disney, bringing the Oscars to the channel for the second consecutive year.

"Mongol TV has been consistently top in ratings in Mongolia by providing our audiences with the best quality programming from around the world. We are fortunate that CBS, ITV, NBC, Fox , Disney and Sony provide us with their best shows for our territory and appreciate our ongoing partnerships with them," said Nomin Chinbat, CEO, Mongol TV.
