The Spanish advertising market seems to be recovering after six years in crisis, but the industry has changed, with online video and mobile being the two sectors with the most growth.

Zenith Panel has predicted around a 0.9% growth for this year and 2.6% for 2015 for a market which has been reduced by half since 2007. The strongest period of recovery is expected to be in November and December, with mobile and online digital media and both free-to-air (FTA) and pay-TV channels gathering most of the investment.

Online video, which was almost non-existent in 2007, may pass the €40 million barrier in advertising investment before the end of the year, up 14% on 2013. Zenith's forecast shows the online video advertising business will grow by almost 6% next year.

The only sector with improving online video figures is mobile, and this growth is related to app and mobile site development. Growing by 17%, advertising investment in the mobile industry will reach €27 million before the end of the year and is expected to grow by 6.5% during 2015.

Pay-TV is has also seen growth during the second half of 2014 and is expected to finish the year up 8.7% on 2013, while 2015 forecasts show a 6% growth. FTA advertising will also finish the year up 5.4% and is expected to increase by 3.8% in 2015.

On the down side, investment in more traditional media has fallen, with newspaper investment decreasing by 5.1% and magazine by 6.1%.
