The forecasts are improving each month for the Spanish advertising market, with analysts, although still cautious, predicting a recovery following six difficult years.

Zenith is the latest to re-evaluate its predictions and has now announced that the year may end with a general growth in advertising.

Between 2007 and 2013, the Spanish advertising market reduced by half but 2014 is, for the moment, very stable, says the analyst. While last week Arce Media reported an 8% growth in TV advertising since the beginning of the year, Zenith says the TV market has experienced some growth and is expected to keep growing until December.

Like other reports from Arce Media and Infoadex, Zenith points to the World Cup and the king's abdication as two events which drew huge investment this year and contributed to the improvement. According to the Zenith, TV advertising will close the year up by 1.2%, with pay-TV increasing investment by 0.7% and online video players leading audiovisual investment with a 4.5% growth, reaching €43 million.

In general, however, the market is still falling and no real growth is expected until the last quarter of the year. Printed media is still not gaining investment, while the mobile market will see a 12.5% growth.
