Spain's Egatel will unveil its Doherty-powered high efficiency TV transmitter during Broadcast Asia 2014, which is to be held in Singapore from 17-20 June.

This will be the first Doherty wideband transmitter, which means it is applicable to the entire UHF band.

The brand new UHF wideband high efficiency transmitters (WHET series) require no modifications in the amplifiers when the operator needs to change the RF channel.

During several live demos, Egatel will show the liquid-cooled 3KW DVB/ISDB (4KW ATSC) transmitter and an air-cooled 600Wrms DVB/ISDB.

The amplifiers synthesise Egatel's know-how, avoiding air flows through components or boards, using redundant power supplies with easy access by the front or with fans placed outside the module for easy replacement.

The use of Doherty technology in the new amplifiers increases efficiency up to 42% in ATSC and 38% in DVB/ISDB.

Regarding the output power or cooling system, Egatel offers 1U 19"exciters for DVB-T/-H/T2, ISDB-T/Tb and ATSC, including digital adaptive pre-correction, friendly solutions for operation and maintenance, front insertion solid state memories for loading configurations and remote supervision solutions based on SNMP.
