French-German channel Arte has purchased the TV rights to the drama series Rectify, after striking a deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE).

The fictional series, a Sundance Channel production, has been acquired by the cultural channel for both France and Germany.

Rectify is already airing on Sky in Germany, after the company picked up the premiere window rights in the country, and it has also premiered on the Sundance Channel in France.

Rectify is set to return for a second series on Sundance Channel in the US in summer 2014.
The series features a man released from prison after 19 years when DNA evidence casts doubt on his conviction for the rape and murder of a young girl.

He returns to his hometown where he must readjust to his new life as doubt still lingers over his innocence.
