Euroconsult, a French consulting firm specialising in satellite communications and broadcasting, has announced the launch of the LATSAT Latin American Satellite Communication & Broadcasting Summit.

The first edition will take place in Mexico City on 4-5 June 2014 and is supported by Mexico's Ministry of Communication and Transport.

According to the company (http://www.euroconsult-ec.com/about-euroconsult-6.html), the summit will be the first event exclusively dedicated to the Latin American satellite communications sector. The LATSAT summit will bring together over 100 senior executive participants representing government and public agencies as well as broadcasters, satellite operators, service providers and satellite manufacturers.

"Latin America has experienced strong growth in recent years in terms of satellite procurement, capacity usage and satellite services and the Mexican Government in particular has strong ambitions for its national space and communications programme," said Steve Bochinger, COO of Euroconsult. "It is therefore essential for this region to develop a central business place where the future of the sector can be discussed and defined."

The two-day event will comprise a high-level programme of keynote speeches and thematic executive-level round tables featuring government officials and industry executives. The sessions will try to cover all levels of the satellite communications value chain.
