Hispasat has started to broadcast High TV 3D, an independent channel which schedules 3D content 24/7, in Europe.

The new channel is distributed through Hispasat 1E in collaboration with TSA Telefónica Servicios Audiovisuales. According to the satellite company, by airing High TV 3D, Hispasat is also exploring various possibilities for 4K distribution in addition to its own channel Hispasat 4K, which was presented at IBC last year.

The company also confirms that over the last months it has been focusing on increasing its portfolio of content providers, telecom centres and operators in order to improve its activities related to TV distribution.

The satellite network aims to consolidate its position in the European market through its satellites placed 30º West, from which it also covers north Africa and some zones of America.

Hispasat, which is under the control of Abertis since last November, intends to more than double its business volume by 2022, mostly due to focusing on Latin America but also by consolidating its European operations.
