Cable pay-TV platform Telecable has increased its basic channel offer with Chello Multicanal and A+E Networks' channel BIO.
The channel, which is widely distributed around the world and focuses on reality TV, is already available through Telecable's fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network, operating in northern Spain. BIO is also scheduled on Tedi, the interactive, video-on-demand (VOD) and TV everywhere platform.
The channel, which has been distributed in 47 countries in 14 different languages, and to 114 million homes, offers US successes such as Duck Dynasty and Storage Wars.
Telecable currently offers up to 80 channels through its various packages, with 40 signals already available through Tedi. The platform, which started as a brand for interactive TV through an advanced set-top box (STB), is becoming a central part of Telecable's future plans to compete against Internet TV and consolidate its customers' base.
By adding Telecable, Chello and A+E have brought BIO to nearly every pay-TV platform in Spain, as it is already scheduled on ONO, Canal+, Movistar TV, R and Euskaltel.
