Adding to recent enhancements of its slate in Western Europe, in particular the UK and Italy, the flagship offering of FOX International Channels (FIC) is to launch in Hungary on the Telekom pay-TV platform.

The new FOX Hungary will broadcast 18 hours daily and will premiere FIC's best-known global franchise such as The Walking Dead, The Simpsons, 24: Live Another Day and Da Vinci's Demons and The Bridge. In addition to the global offerings, FOX Hungary has committed to tailoring its proposition to the local market and audience.

The launch in Hungary furthers FIC's ongoing European growth plan for its flagship brand, which over the past year has expanded into the East European region in Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Greece, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. It also extends its offer into the general entertainment space, and grows the group's portfolio in the market beyond the existing National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild offers.

"We're thrilled to bring FOX and our slate of original, breakthrough and exclusive series to Hungarian fans," says Carlos Ortega, EVP of Central and Eastern Europe. "Our new audience will enjoy premieres of world-class entertainment content, and an impressive list of productions that will be scheduled and promoted to serve the needs of the local market. As with all our channels worldwide, it will localise an international brand, without losing its essence."
