German music TV channel Deutsches Musik Fernsehen will launch a high definition channel on 2 December 2013.

The HD service will initially by carried on Deutsche Telekom's IPTV platform Entertain, the channel's programme director Michael Jaufmann told Rapid TV News.

Deutsches Musik Fernsehen targets fans of traditional German-language music, German pop music and German folk music. The free-to-air channel's schedule includes music videos from artists such as Andrea Berg, Helene Fischer and Beatrice Egli.
