Spain's public broadcaster TVE has launched a second-screen app which viewers can use to record live content and share it on social networks.
The mobile app is called +TVE and has been designed by the company's own interactive department.
It is available for iOS and Android and allows viewers to record 30 seconds of any of TVE's content to publish and comment upon it using social media. The most shared short videos will be ranked in TVE's website, as a picture of the social networks' reaction to its programming.
+TVE will available for three of the company's channels: La1, La2 and Teledeporte, covering all the scheduled shows. Extra information about the programmes - such as related news, links, videos, pictures or audios - will be offered live through the app.
“This app is a model of how to adapt the TV to new technologies and social networks and drives TVE to have a great presence in the multi-screen environment”, pointed out Ignacio Corrales, TVE's director.
