Quickflix has announced that it will be distributing its streaming service through the new Amazon Kindle Fire as part of its launch in Australia.

The Kindle Fire comes pre-loaded with the Quickflix app, enabling easy access to its 'all you can view' subscription streaming of movies and TV shows and pay-per-view latest release movies and current seasons TV shows.

TV and movie streaming is rapidly growing among Australian consumers, as more and more devices like the Amazon Kindle Fire offer even greater choice when it comes to on-demand content. The number of hours of movie and TV streamed by Quickflix increased 20% in September 2013 quarter over the previous quarter.

Quickflix founder and CEO Stephen Langsford, said: ‘‘The Kindle Fire is the latest consumer device to feature Quickflix streaming. It features a high quality 7" screen and an easy-to-use interface and app store. The more devices we add to our network the more convenience and choice we provide our customers and the more valuable our service becomes. We’re literally putting movies and TV shows in the hands of our audience. The days of being dependent on the TV stations for whatever’s on are quickly coming to an end.’’
