Two new Punjabi channels have been added to the South Asian offering from Canada's Asian Television Network (ATN) on the Bell Fibre TV network in Toronto and Montreal.

Sikh spiritual channel ATN-Sikh and youth-oriented music channel ATN-Brit Asia have been added to the existing four Punjabi channels already offered by the Canadian network after an exclusive licensing agreement was reached with the UK-based channels.

"We have been very privileged to have been associated with our vast Sikh community with respect to our Canadian television programming for over three decades and are now delighted to launch a dedicated Sikh spiritual, cultural and educational channel," said Dr Shan Chandrasekar, president and CEO of ATN.

ATN-Sikh is the first of its kind, broadcasting religious and cultural shows 24-hours a day. Meanwhile, ATN-Brit Asia features Asian music from both the UK and overseas.

ATN provides 39 premium specialty television channels for Canada's diverse cultural communities, including SET Asia, Star Plus, Life OK, SAB, Times Now and NDTV, as well as broadcasting cricket and other international sports.
