French children's entertainment production company Gaumont Alphanim, an affiliate to movie production house Gaumont, has rebranded into Gaumont Animation.

The new name is part of the company's 2013 overall strategic development plan that includes the development of both original content, such as Dude That's My Ghost which was recently delivered to Disney XD, and classic properties such as Calimero.

The first deal unveiled under the new Gaumont Animation banner is a remake of Enid Blyton's Noddy. A development and production agreement has been inked with France Televisions and DreamWorks Classics for a new 52 part 11-minute, 3D CGI animated series.
