German TV broadcasting group ProSiebenSat.1 wants to launch a total of six new TV channels in Germany in 2013 and 2014, including three free-to-air channels.

The announcement was by the company at the presentation of its annual business report 2012 in Munich.
The new free-to-air channels will be a children's channel, a luxury channel for viewers with high incomes and ProSieben Maxx, the previously announced channel for older men which is launching in Q4 2013.

The new pay-TV services will be ran+ HD, a sports channel targeting men between 14-49, Galileo TV HD, a knowledge and science channel for viewers from 14 years and upwards, and ProSieben Stars HD. The premium channel will show blockbuster movies and US series for viewers from 14 years.

Jürgen Hörner, managing director of ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland, announced in January 2013 that the broadcaster plans to create further spin-off services of existing TV channels. Most recently, on 17 January 2013 ProSiebenSat.1 launched free-to-air channel Sat.1 Gold targeting older women.
