French producer Pascal Breton is leaving Zodiak Media Group and stepping down as CEO of subsidiary Marathon Images, the French production company he co-founded 23 years ago with Olivier Brémond.

The production company was behind drama series such as Dolmen and Saint-Tropez. Breton has decided to pursue new personal projects and concentrate on being an independent producer again. However, he will continue to work with Zodiak Media while producing the series Sous le Soleil de Saint-Tropez and the international co-production Versailles, which is coproduced with Capa Drama for Canal+.

Breton will be replaced by Philippe Alessandri, the current CEO of Tele Images Productions, formerly Tele images Kids, who has been promoted to CEO of Marathon Images. He will hold the position in addition to his current role at Tele Images Productions.

Marathon Images comprises several production companies including Marathon (Saint-Tropez, Dolmen, Summer Camp) and GTV (Blood on the Docks, Night Squad, Highlander).

Christian Charret, the founder of GTV, has agreed to work closely with Philippe Alessandri as a drama senior consultant to Zodiak France in order to develop French dramas.

In 2012, the production companies within Marathon Images delivered four drama series: Summer Camp (season 2) produced by Yann Chassard for TF1; Blood on the Docks (season 2); the sixth episode of the Laviolette Collection produced by Jacques Salles for France 2 and France 3; and Back to St Tropez, the spin-off of cult series St Tropez produced by Pascal Breton and Jérôme Vignac for TMC.
