Swiss cable operators have increased their number of digital TV households in the past 12 months by 255,300 to 1.27 million - a growth of 25%, according to industry association Swisscable.

The number of Internet customers rose by 69,400 to 926,500, while the number of telephony customers increased by 80,100 to 548,700.

The cable operators' largest competitor in the digital TV market, national telco Swisscom, also posted growth figures. The number of customers for IPTV platform Swisscom TV climbed in the past 12 months by 172,000 to 728,000 customers - a growth of 30.9%. In Q3 2012 alone, 34,000 new customers were won.
