Kaltura and YuMe have teamed up to enable Kaltura publishers to insert in-stream video advertising as a way of monetising the video content published on Kaltura's open source online video platform.
YuMe has developed a plug-in, available in the Kaltura Exchange, which provides custom ad units, advanced reporting and advertiser brand safety controls from within the Kaltura Video Player. Essentially, content developers and video producers can now combine advertising and content platforms into a single integrated approach.
"We built YuMe's technology and services to help publishers organise and package their video content to generate the most money possible from TV brand advertisers, even as their businesses grow and evolve," said Bryan Everett, executive vice president of business development at YuMe. "As a leading online video platform, Kaltura works with a variety of growing media companies. We look forward to helping all of these companies build a sophisticated video business with high monetisation potential."
The YuMe plug-in enables immediate access to YuMe's ACE for Publishers 4.0 ad management system as well as a dynamic connection to a large pool of brand advertisers through YuMe's Connected Audience Network.
"As happy Kaltura customers, we're thrilled that YuMe's Kaltura plug-in provides easy access to all the inventory management, campaign scheduling and advanced reporting functionality of the AFP ad management system, along with the strong monetisation, brand focus and ad campaign diversity of the Connected Audience Network," said Elizabeth Vargas, CEO of Edge Music Network, a music channel designed to connect fans with their favourite bands across the world. "We expect to significantly increase our video advertising revenue by leveraging the new YuMe solution."
