HBO Latin America Group has launched on Karib Cable, an MSO serving the Caribbean islands of St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

Karib Cable will broadcast the HBO/MAX Premium package developed for the Caribbean, which includes 8 channels: HBO, HBO Plus, HBO Signature, HBO Family, HBO (East), Max, Max HD and Max Prime. Together they offer 300 new releases and series per month.

"HBO Latin America is very enthusiastic with the signing of a new and long-lasting relationship with Karib Cable and its subscribers," said Javier Figueras, vice president of sales for HBO Latin America Group, in a statement. "After months of negotiating with us, Karib Cable is making sure that its viewers enjoy premium programming, including acclaimed original series like True Blood, Game of Thrones, Treme and Boardwalk Empire, and shows like Real Time with Bill Maher. We both share the mission to deliver the most innovative shows with the best technology available to the market."

The deal also encompasses carriage for additional, non-HBO channels, on Karib Cable basic tier for no additional cost to subscribers. Sony Entertainment Television, Sony SPIN (geared towards the millennium generation with TV shows, fashion, technology, music shows, special events and top grossing movies), AXN (drama and action series, movies, reality and sports programming from the US), E! Entertainment Television (celebrity news and programming) and the WB.

"Karib Cable is pleased to sign a new broadcast agreement with HBO that will enable us to offer more exciting new channels to customers in St. Vincent and the Grenadines," said Ed Riley, GM of Karib Cable. "The robust suite of HBO channels in our movie package, along with the addition of [other channels] to the Premium Basic line-up will enhance and offer our valued customers a variety of additional entertainment choices."

The deal follows previous agreements between HBO and several cable partners throughout the Caribbean, including Flow in Jamaica, Cable Bahamas in the Bahamas, various operators in Trinidad & Tobago and other countries in the region.
