Leading Spanish cable operator Ono could remove Eurosport and Eurosport 2 sports channels from its programming if it cannot close a deal with the sports broadcaster.

This would mean that the cable TV firm’s subs would no longer be able to enjoy sporting events such as the U.S. Open, the Tour de France, Roland Garros, the Giro d'Italia, the Australia Open, the Africa Cup of Nations football tournament, the World Superbike Championship and the Eurocup basketball.

In total, Ono broadcasts 5,000 hours of live sports events a year from Eurosport and Eurosport 2 which are also available in Spain from Canal +, Telefónica’s Movistar Imagenio, Telecable, R, Euskaltel and other licensed operators. Eurosport 2 is available on Movistar Imagenio, R, Euskaltel and other licensed operators.
