Satellite operator SES has changed the name of its German technical service provider Astra Platform Services (APS) to SES Platform Services.
With the move, the company adopts the name of the parent company while at the same time underlining its ambitions to expand its international activities.
"Internationalisation is an important part of our growth strategy. The assimilation of our corporate identity to the globally known brand SES is an important precondition for this," Wilfried Urner, CEO of SES Platform Services, said in Munich. "In conjunction with SES, we want to continue contributing to the development of media markets and new business models around the globe, for both new and existing customers."
SES Platform Services already supports German and European companies in the expansion of their business activities to emerging markets like Eastern Europe and Africa. Its portfolio includes services such as playout, uplinking, TV platform operation, HbbTV, content management, achiving, transcoding, web-streaming and content delivery.
