Broadpeak, the Technicolor spin-off providing content delivery networks (CDN) and Video-On-Demand (VOD) servers, has appointed new dealers as part of a push into Latin America.

Addressing cable, IPTV, open Internet, and hybrid TV operators worldwide, Broadpeak has signed up four new local distributors, located in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, and Venezuela to distribute products and services throughout Latin America. "The Latin American telco and cable market holds much promise for Broadpeak and is one of our primary target markets as we expand the company's global sales efforts," said Jacques Le Mancq, the company's president and CEO. "Our participation at the Broadcast & Cable Show [in Brazil] will help attendees view our offerings first hand, and our new distributors will provide our solutions to the region's telco and cable customers". At the heart of the new offering will be the BkS family of live and on-demand servers designed to deliver video on managed or open Internet networks to a variety of devices.

The platform provides a unified solution to address video streaming in the Adobe, Flash, Microsoft, Silverlight smooth streaming, and Apple HTTP live streaming formats for both live and on-demand applications.
