Satellite group Eutelsat has selected 12 French administrative departments to organise demonstration broadband reception by satellite.

The experience has been led in association with Association nationale des élus de montagne (Anem) and the Assemblée des départements de France (ADF).

It is designed to allow French territorial collectives to use freely during a one-month period the new broadband internet Tooway service available from the New KA-SAT satellite, which has become operational since May June 2011. The experience will start next September. The 12 selected departments, from Brittany to Corsica, are areas which are non or ill-covered by DTT.
