Spain's leading cable TV operator Ono has entered into the HDTV arena with a basket of its leading channels.

These HDTV versions will be able to be received through the operator's advanced STB TiVo box when it is launched by the end of this year according to what 'Rapid TV News' has been told by the company itself.

One of the top HDTV channels to be launched is soccer channel Gol TV HD with the Champions League, La Liga football league and the King's Cup among the most important sporting events its programming contains.

Another channel is Fox HD, MTV Live HD with video clips, concerts and realities. AXN HD and Sony TV HD are to complete this offering with a programming schedule based on TV series and cinema.

The operator will also offer the HDTV versions of TVE, Antena 3, Telecinco and laSexta. But except for the case of TVE, the rest of the channel's HDTV versions are not really true HDTV but escalated image in progression.

Viewers living in the Northern region of Cataluña will also be able to access the regional public channel TV3HD.
