As part of a language-specific expansion of its film channels, Fox International Channels (FIC) is to launch on 1 July Fox Movies in Portugal, Angola and Mozambique.

The 24/7 channel will be exclusively dedicated to cinema offering the most recent box-office successes across genres: drama, comedy, science fiction, action and horror. The summer slate will include box-office hits such the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Lara Croft’ franchises as well as critically acclaimed Oscar winners ‘Juno’ and ‘The Queen’.

The service will be available from the respective countries’ major pay TV operators—such as Zon TV Cabo and Meo in Portugal—and  is available free-to-air in the Middle East and North Africa and as a pay service in Japan and Portugal. Worldwide, it is beamed into more than 50 million homes.
