Spanish-Catalan public broadcaster TV3 is to show Spain’s first ever live concert 3D with the "5" event from the Northern city of Zaragoza.

This is a new technological landmark for TV3 initiated to introduce and implement 3D transmissions of big events such as football matches or theatre plays.

The 3D concert will use the latest generation 3D equipment which will allow the event to be offered live via satellite and also on the DTT network with the standard DVB-T2. It will also be transited in American and European theatres and also on the internet through a specific web site for the occasion.
The event will also be transmitted in three different formats/ HDTV and active 3D, the 3D format of highest quality.

The "5" project is lead by the region of Aragon's public broadcaster Corporacion Aragonesa de Radio y Television (CARTV) and apart from TV3 it counts on the participation of a number of companies and institutions.
