Mediapro's Spanish DTT channel Gol TV has consolidated its position as the country’s third national pay-TV channel only surpassed by AXN and Fox.

For April 2011 and for the third consecutive month the football channel ranked third with a share of 4.2%. At the same time Gol TV is the only channel among those occupying the five first places that grew its audience by more than the industry average in last month, an increase of 0.8% compared with the 0.1% posted by the rest of pay-TV channels.

Gol TV’s channel’s main attractions have been coverage of La Liga and the Champions League, both of which have recently featured titanic, rancorous and actually hugely popular (even on a global basis) clashes between Spain’s two top teams, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Gol TV was the first pay-TV channel distributed on the DTT. I started in September 2009 with 24 hours a day of the best soccer matches on a national and international level. Also all of its contents are HDTV produced.

The channel is distributed through Ono, Euskaltel, Telecable, Grupo R, AOTEC (the association of the small cable operators), ISECA, Movistar Imagenio, Orange and Andorra Telecom. On the mobile phones it gets distribution from Vodafone and Telefónica's DSL pay-TV operator Movistar Imagenio.
