Following the launch of Mediaset’s Telecinco HDTV channel, Grupo Planeta’s national private TV channel Antena 3 has announced its own launch for Tuesday, 28 September 2010.

The broadcaster will simultaneously use two quality standards: the SD signal currently being received on DTT and the HDTV signal available for those viewers having a DTT-HD decoder. Through this step Antena 3 says that it will follow its strategy to offer viewers the highest technological standards to improve TV experiences.

Next for regular HD transmissions will be Televisión Española (TVE) with broadcast due to start by the beginning of 2011 according to local market sources.
