MTV's free-to-air transmissions on DTT start today in a historic move for the Viacom media group which has mainly been offering its channels via pay-TV for years (although MTV was one of Europe's first unencrypted satellite TV channels in the mid 90s).
MTV Spain was born some ten years ago and the channel has followed youth trends by launching multi-media, multitasking and multi-platform content.
The in-the-clear transmissions of MTV will be mainly based on programming including TV series, docu-realities, self productions and, of course, music.
