According to reports in Spanish newspaper "El Economista", telco Vodafone España is to launch a DSL TV offering to compete directly with Telefónica.

At present Spain's DSL pay-TV market is dominated by Telefónica's Movistar Imagenio which boasts more than half a million subscribers.

Francisco Román, Vodafone España's president, said that the company's new service will include pay-DTT content together with the conventional DTT offering and also HDTV content. In addition, Vodafone España's future pay-TV platform will allow subscribers to view their own contents such as photographs, music and videos. It will also give the opportunity of navigating through the Internet and accessing to specific Internet contents through the TV set.
