MTV Networks France will launch pre-school channel Nickelodeon Junior on January 26th.

Nick Jnr will debut on satellite platform CanalSat as well as cable operator Numericable. Dedicated to children aged 3 to 7, the new channel, whose several versions are already effective in the US and Europe, claims an  edutaining and emotaining positioning built on animated brands such as Dora, Go Diego ! or Ni Hao-Kaï-Lan. It will run limited ad slots.

As for channel Nickelodeon itself, it will then be targeting older kids from 7 to 14. The channel will also extend distribution as it will not then be part of CanalSat's Family package but belong in the basic tier, where it will be accessible to twice the audience, some 5 million households instead of its current 2.5 million.

With the arrival of Nickelodeon Junior, MTV Networks France will also enrich and develop the "Nickelodeon sphere" giving a multi-screen and multi-dimensional approach to its youth contents. This include catch-up TV, free Vod, SVOD and online games on, downloads on iTtunes and as well as web TV transmissions of Dora, SpongeBob, and Avatar on
