anixe_hdGerman HDTV channel Anixe HD will from now on only broadcast productions created in native HD but the move will see the broadcaster considerably reduce its airtime.

From October 1, Anixe HD will only transmit from 20.00 CET to midnight, Monday to Friday, and non-stop from Saturday evening, 20.00 CET, to Monday morning, 10.00 CET. But the schedule will not consist only of productions which have been created in native HD (1080i).

Until now, Anixe HD has been offering a 24 hour schedule which consisted partly of conventional programmes up-converted to HD. The share of native HD material amounted to only around 30%.

The new schedule will consist of a new financial news programme as well as movies, series, documentaries and sports. From October, Anixe HD will also offer interactive content which viewers can access through the red button.

Sister channel Anixe SD, which transmits in standard-definition, will continue to air a 24 hour schedule – but not simulcast Anixe HD’s programmes any more, instead offering separate content.

Anixe HD was launched in May 2006. The free-to-air channel, which finances through advertising and sponsorship, can be received via Astra (19.2° East), in cable networks and on Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV platform T-Home Entertain.
