France's TV and radio regulatory body the CSA has received 377 private projects in answer to its call for tenders for digital radio.
Among the projects, seven are for full-programming radio stations and include  Radio Courtoisie, Sud Radio, RTL, Europe 1 and RMC. Added to this list are LCI Radio project from TF1’s news channel LCI as well as news and sport format RTL-L'Equipe, which is currently available on the net only.

TF1 has also applied with two other theme projects : Plurielles Radio, an extension of woman-oriented website Plurielles .fr, and WAT Radio, from video-sharing web platform WAT.

RTL Group has applied with music formats RTL2 and Fun Radio and is candidate for Radio 128, a project of urban radio based on music and talk-radio.

New projects include real-time stock-exchange BFM Bourse and RMC Sport from groupe NextRadioTV.

Public radio broadcasters did not have to applyas they will automatically get licences.

Projects selected for this first call for bids will be received into 19 of the biggest French cities, and will cover 30% of the territory. The selection will take place next March to start broadcasting by the end of 2009.
