Austria’s
DVB-H mobile TV package, which is to launch in time for soccer’s
European Cup in June, will comprise 15 television and five radio
stations. Mobile phone company Hutchison 3G Austria, which will market
the offer, announced the line-up in Vienna.
Television channels available will be ORF 1, ORF 2, ATV, Puls 4,
ProSieben Austria, RTL, Sat.1 Österreich, VOX, Laola1.tv, LaLa TV, Red
Bull, RTL II, N24, Super RTL and a further, as yet unknown broadcaster.
The radio selection will consist of Ö3, FM4, Kronehit, Ö1 and Lounge FM.
The bouquet will initially be available in cities where the matches
take place, being Vienna, Salzburg, Innsbruck and Klagenfurt. But by
year-end the DVB-H network should cover all major domestic cities and
thereby 50% of the Austrian population.
The DVB-H package supplements the UMTS-based mobile TV bouquet with 40
television and radio stations which Hutchison 3G Austria already
offers. All customers who opt for the tariff “ShowTime XL” can receive
the package during the entire duration of their contracts without
charge. All other customers can receive DVB-H until the end of the year
free of charge. Thereafter it will cost €6 per month.
