Amidst all the media clutter and social marketing mayhem, there's one platform out there that's been quietly maturing over the past few years. You may know Digital Out Of Home (or DOOH) as digital-place-based media, digital signage, LED billboards, or even the wonky VHS machine or DVD player showing a product demo at your local retailer.

Thankfully, DOOH has developed in leaps and bounds since then and has become a vibrant, innovative industry with huge potential for advertisers and marketers. Put simply, DOOH is any digital screen located in an out-of-home environment and showing customised programming, content, or advertising.

Digital Signage is the technology behind DOOH and we are lucky enough in the industry to have in Intel Corporation, Harris Broadcast and NEC, three large corporates who care about its growth, education and marketing. Together we have put together a series of events which we call the Digital Signage Round Table where the panelists discuss some of the issues and challenges facing the industry. This one, recorded in front of a live audience was recorded at Screenmedia Expo in London in May 2011.
