Sky Germany keeps Formula 1 rights

German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland will continue to show the Formula 1 races live in Germany and Austria after extending the partnership with rights holder Formula One Management for three years, until 2015.

The deal, the financial details of which have not been disclosed, ensures that fans of Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and other drivers can watch all Grand Prix races live and in high definition on Sky.

With Sky Go, subscribers can also follow the live coverage while on-the-go and on the Internet, for example using the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch or Xbox 360.

On free-to-air television, RTL shows the Formula 1 races live. Sports channel Sport1 transmits the Friday practice rounds live and reports on the highlights of the other races.
