Aspiring entrepreneurs in the UAE are being invited to compete for a cash investment to the tune of a million dirhams through a homegrown reality TV concept from local telecommunications company Du.
Set for broadcast on Dubai Media Incorporated's channel Dubai One later this year, 'The Entrepreneur' will be produced by Sony Pictures Television Arabia.
"We are convinced there are many good ideas out there which need to be heard, and which need to be promoted. The UAE is brimming with fantastic entrepreneurial talent which just needs a platform to take it to the next level," said Hala Badri, executive vice president, brand and communications, du.
"The Entrepreneur aims to empower and support the new breed of UAE entrepreneurs that build new enterprises which are innovative, sustainable and, most importantly, contribute meaningfully towards the social development of communities. This truly is a once in a life time opportunity, and for those with big dreams, I would say – go for it!" she added.
The show's jury will comprise: Abdul Baset Al Jahahi, chief executive – MBRE; Nisreen Shocair – president, Virgin Megastore, MENA; Yogesh Mehta, founder and managing director – Petrochem; and Muna Al Gurg – director of retail, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group (ESAG).
