Globosat joins Net for mobile VOD

Brazil’s broadcaster Globosat and cable operator Net have joined forces to offer mobile VOD.

The new service -developed by Globosat- is called Muu and is already available for Net subscribers wanting to watch on-demand contents on their cellulars, tablets and computers.

The new service contains more than 1,400 programming hours of the Globosat channels and its executives hope to grow this up to 2,000 hours by the end of this year.

The service is exclusive to Net clients and is not available through Internet-connected TV sets or video games consoles.

José Antonio Félix, Net’s CEO, explained that those who want to access the videos through their TV sets will have to use Now, the VOD service launched by the cable operator last April.

The Muu service is free of charge for existing Net clients and is combined with the Now platform for the TV Everywhere services.
