Portugal’s DTT could postpone its analogue switch-off

Portugal could put off its national analogue switch off, according to the Expresso newspaper.

The Portuguese government is planning to postpone the switch-off for a period of six months to give people time to obtain the necessary equipment - set-top-boxes (STBs) or integrated digital TV sets – to enable them to receive the digital broadcasts. This move won’t coincide with the analogue switch-over in the city of Nadal.

Portugal’s national switch-off is now forecast to happen in January 2012.
