New Technicolor spinoff Broadpeak has unveiled a suite of video delivery solutions designed to enable network service providers to deliver and scale video services such as VOD over managed IPTV networks and OTT video.

Broadpeak’s team comprises a team who previously worked on large-scale deployments by leading IPTV, cable, and hybrid pay-TV operators worldwide. Technicolor has granted an exclusive license to Broadpeak for the software integrated in the new Smartvision CDN and VoD server and will continue to propose Broadpeak’s video delivery solutions to its existing and new customers while Broadpeak will support the maintenance of these products. Focused on content delivery network (CDN) and video-on-demand (VOD) servers

“We welcome the creation of Broadpeak,” said Romain Waller, SVP Connect, IPTV and VoIP, Technicolor. “We are confident that its dedication to video delivery network components will allow it to take our proven Smartvision CDN and VoD server portfolio to the next level, for the ultimate benefit of Technicolor customers and video network service providers in general.”

Among the products that Broadpeak will demonstrate at IBC are the BkS100 Streamer series video streaming appliances which power VOD and other applications such as network-based personal video recording and time-shifting services. The BkM100 Mediator series appliances are designed to enable network service providers to deliver content to multiple screens over any type of network. Broadpeak will also showcase a demonstration of its adaptive streaming technology that fits into existing networks to maximize user-experience under varying network conditions.
