Spanish broadcasters share football rights

Mediapro's laSexta, together with Spanish public broadcaster Televisión Española (TVE) and the regional public broadcasters within the association FORTA are to share free-to-air TV rights to the Spanish football league.

The broadcasters will also share the free-TV rights for broadcasts of the UEFA Champions’ League. TVE and the FORTA will chose two out of the four matches every time the Spanish teams play in this competition and another of these matches will be offered by pay-DTT channel Mediapro's Gol TV.

Champions League games will also be transmitted by Mediaset's Telecinco which will offer an option as to what to watch. Sogecable's Canal+ Spain has pay-TV rights to the Champions’ League.

For La Copa del Rey, Telecinco owns free-to-air rights and Gol TV pay-TV rights but TVE also has rights to the Final for free-to-air transmissions.

Rights to matches of the Spanish football  team will be distributed among TVE and Telecinco.

Spain’s second division will be offered by Digital+, Gol TV and by some regional TV channels such as Telemadrid's laOtra.
