An agreement between Qtel and Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADMC) will result in all matches in the 2010/11 season of the English Premier League (EPL) to be available Qatar’s Mozaic TV.
Qtel will offer the football for a price of QR35 as part of a one-year subscription, the only service in Qatar providing coverage of the EPL, along with what the service provider says will be a ‘host’ of special features and benefits for Qtel customers. The package will include access to live coverage of all 380 games, along with 24/7 programming featuring previews, reviews and analysis from 14 August 2010.
In addition to the normal huge interest in football, Qtel believes that the recent World Cup and widespread support for Qatar’s bid for the 2011 tournament will drive demand even further.
Commented Ricky Ghai, Executive Director, Digital Media, at ADMC: “Qatar is a nation that loves football and this deal makes it easier for fans in the country to watch the best-ever English Premier League coverage next season. Qatar is bidding for the World Cup and that shows the passion they have for the game. We are confident they will be delighted with what we have in store for them next season.”
