Reliance restructuring?

Big_TVReliance Big TV, the Indian DTH business owned by Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communications, is reportedly set to be hived off, along with the company’s Reliance IPTV business, into a separate entity.

 

New unit Reliance Digital Works may then look for fresh investors, according to local newspaper the Business Standard. Among these could be local cable MSOs as well as foreign investors.

Big TV has signed up some 2.3 million subscribers since its August 2008 launch. Reliance IPTV, meanwhile, is still only available in limited areas in Mumbai.
