Spain's analogue switch off a success

tdtTwo weeks after Spain's national analogue switch-off only 2.5% of reported problems have to do with the signal reception.

Data from the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce showed that 3.6% of phone calls out of 80,124 received from March 30 to April 12 at the Ministry's Call Centre were related to signal problems while 8.3% were related to installation problems. This means a big success for the DTT implementation process according to the Ministry.

Even for those living in technically problematic areas because their geography is complicated can get DTT, in this case via satellite. For these citizens, representing approximately 1.5% of the population (around 700,000 people) a total of 14,226 satellite dishes have been installed according to the data of the Ministry.

Last week, Spain’s Parliament agreed to allocate more money for installing satellite dishes. Currently there are 11 autonomous regions already offering subsidies to buy the satellite-DTT boxes and dishes. The rest of the regions are studying this matter.
