Spain's Gol TV also in HD

HDTV is being implemented smoothly but steadily in Spain, with producer Mediapro launching tests of its soccer channel Gol TV in HD on the DTT platform in the autonomous region of Madrid.

Gol TV HD will add to Canal+'s HD pay-TV channels and the services from national public broadcaster RTVE, the regional Catalan public proadcaster TV3 and the Aragón regional public broadcaster Aragón TV.

There are also HD versions of thematic channels AXN and Eurosport.

Nevertheless the market still doesn't know whether Canal+ HD and Gol TV HD will both be transmitted on DTT.

Madrid's regional public channel Telemadrid also started HD tests, as has the Balearic Islands' regional public channel IB3.
