German TV company HV Fernsehbetriebs GmbH wants to set up a thematic television channel for hunters and fishermen. An application for a broadcast licence for the venture dubbed Waidwerk was lodged at Berlin-based media authority MABB.
The channel emerges out of the programme window Waidwerk which documentary channel Planet, operated by HV, has been screening each Monday and Tuesday from 19.15 CET since March 1. In the one-hour slot, the pay-TV broadcaster shows documentaries and reports about hunting grounds, rivers and lakes and interviews experts.
Under the name wobbler.tv, HV already operates a web-TV channel for hunters and fishermen.
